Travel story
In an open valley, there is a single waterfall. In an empty cove, a grassy path
Where we were headed was always decided afterwards
What suits this journey more than a map is curiosity
—
This is a four-day itinerary to freely explore the nature and small villages of the Faroe Islands by rental car. Based in the capital Tórshavn, it focuses on the islands of Streymoy and Vágar, allowing you to enjoy diverse landscapes such as cliffs, waterfalls, and coves at your own pace.
On the islands, you will visit places that offer visual surprises, such as a boat tour with views of the dramatic sea stack Tindhólmur (a filming location for movies), the lake Sørvágsvatn that appears to float in the air, and Múlafossur waterfall which plunges directly into the sea.
This is a trip where the journey itself brings encounters more than the destination. Rather than just visiting tourist spots, driving slowly through the island terrain and its tranquility lets you experience another charm of the Faroe Islands.
Signature points
Free movement by rental car, driving through the Faroe Islands' terrain
Explore islands connected by tunnels and bridges at your own pace. Every time you come upon a cliff or a cove, choosing the route becomes a discovery in itself.
Waterfalls that drop into the sea, floating lakes, and optical-illusion-like vistas
Unreal landscapes created by nature are scattered throughout, such as Múlafossur waterfall and the lake Sørvágsvatn. Enjoy scenery that changes depending on the viewing angle.
Feel the island atmosphere while stopping by small villages and historic churches
Access places where human life blends into the landscape, such as the old church in Kirkjubøur and the settlement of Saksun. The itinerary is arranged so you encounter nature during your drive.
