The next day to the sea — sitting quietly on the deck in Ha Long Bay where karst islands float, gasping at the depth of the caves and the view from Ti Top Island. At night fly to the coastal town of Da Nang, soothed by warm spas and sea breezes, collecting fragments of daily life encountered in historic stone statues, the pink cathedral, and bustling markets.
