Zimbabwe review

plane Zimbabwe

April 21, 2025

Only go where you want, and stay as long as you like.

For this trip, I planned to rely on local tours while also keeping days flexible to adjust to my health and the weather.

Since only private tours were offered, not group tours, I wondered later if I should have requested a group tour for cost reasons... but in the end, I was glad I chose a private tour.

When I shared my interests with the guide, they flexibly adjusted the itinerary for me. They also gave me advice on how to stay safe in areas with security concerns, so I was able to spend my time meaningfully and safely.

Looking back, I wish I had communicated my interests more clearly during the planning stage.

Even with my hectic daily schedule, I was able to make my trip happen thanks to being able to consult and receive suggestions via chat whenever needed.

Thank you very much!
I'm sure I'll be relying on you again!

What kind of country is Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwe is a country located in the southern part of the African continent. With its high elevation and low humidity, the climate is comfortable and pleasant. The country is actively promoting tourism, and most attractions—including Victoria Falls, World Heritage sites, and national parks—are easily accessible from the city center. The name "Zimbabwe" means "stone house," originating from the massive stone structures found at sites like the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. The Zimbabwe Bird, a stone sculpture discovered at the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, is also featured on the national flag and coins as a symbol of the country. You are sure to enjoy a truly comfortable and fulfilling experience, both physically and mentally.

・The scope and frequency of police patrols are quite limited, so you cannot rely on them too much. Therefore, it is important to be mindful of protecting yourself.
・To avoid becoming a victim of crime, try to avoid traveling at night, do not carry large amounts of cash, and keep your belongings to a minimum.
clothing
・In Zimbabwe, you can generally get by year-round with short sleeves and a light jacket or cardigan.
・If you are visiting Victoria Falls, be sure to bring raincoats and sandals or other gear to protect yourself from the spray.
Things to bring.

Visa availability and arrangements
・A visa is required.

・You can also obtain a KAZA Univisa, valid for 30 days, for US$50, which allows multiple entries between Zimbabwe and Zambia and day trips to Botswana.
Required vaccinations
There are no mandatory requirements for entry.
However, if you have not received additional doses of routine vaccines such as hepatitis A and B, tetanus, rabies, typhoid, cholera, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), DPT, or polio, vaccination is recommended.
