I was glad to visit recommended places in unfamiliar areas.

I didn't want to carry large luggage, so having a pick-up car was very helpful. It made the trip feel luxurious, and in every place, someone fluent in Japanese guided us sincerely (having someone who speaks Japanese was definitely easier).
The Portuguese driver was also excellent (from the narrow streets of our Porto hotel to Óbidos and then Lisbon).

Oooh arranged our hotels and more, but I think I would have felt more at ease if I could see a bit more detailed breakdown, such as the fees for interpreters and drivers.

Overall, I think the arrangements were very good.

I was concerned that there might be issues with time differences or language when communicating with Karin, but Okura provided excellent support and there were no communication problems at all.

I'm not sure if the price was low, but the quality of the local guides was high, and the Mercedes vehicles for transportation were very comfortable.

This time, there was a problem with paying the hotel fee in Madrid, and I think it would have been better if I had received a payment breakdown in advance.

Hello! I am Ana, the founder and CEO of a travel company that creates unforgettable trips in Spain and Portugal. Growing up surrounded by the seas and mountains of Spain, I was captivated by the richness and diversity of my country from an early age. In 2014, I established this company as a platform to share the charms of Spain and Portugal. For me, the essence of travel is "people." My greatest joy comes from listening carefully to our customers, understanding their interests and preferences, and creating a tailor-made experience just for them. I also value my relationships with local guides, drivers, artisans, and hotel owners. I believe that only by knowing both sides deeply can we create truly memorable journeys. When we embark on creating a trip together, I will pour all my passion, care, and meticulous attention into it.

What kind of country is Spain?

Spain, the 'Land of Passion.' Located on the Iberian Peninsula, bordered by the Bay of Biscay to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south, it is a wonderful country overflowing with diverse geography and culture.

Spain has a history spanning over ten thousand years since prehistoric times. It boasts historical landmarks such as the Alcázar Castle, known as Snow White's Castle and built in the 12th century, as well as fascinating modernist architecture by Antoni Gaudí. In addition, there are many natural wonders, including Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park in the Pyrenees on the border with France.

There are many things that Spain is culturally known for, such as bullfighting and flamenco, as well as a rich food culture including the tapas tradition—enjoying small dishes and drinks at bars, much like Japanese izakaya. It is a place full of experiences and delights that can only be enjoyed locally.

Since it is a surprisingly vast destination, consult with a local advisor to create a tailor-made trip just for you.

    hidden gem

    area

Once known as one of the most dangerous paths in the world, this walkway was originally built in the early 20th century along the cliffs of the Guadalhorce River gorge. It was named the 'King’s Little Pathway' after King Alfonso XIII walked it. Thanks to renovations, it is now relatively safe for hiking. Walking along the narrow trail hundreds of meters above the ground and gazing at the breathtaking views from the observation decks, you can experience the thrill and romance once felt by the workers, and marvel at both the power of nature and the human achievement of constructing such a path.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
The currency in Spain is the euro. You can exchange money at airports and banks, but you’ll often get a better rate if you exchange it in Japan before you travel. Credit cards are accepted at restaurants and shops, and in recent years, you can use them even for small amounts. However, it’s still convenient to carry a small amount of cash.
Tips
Tipping is not a part of basic Spanish culture, so you don’t need to worry about it too much. In practice, people often round up the bill or leave a tip of around 5% at bars and restaurants as a gesture of appreciation. However, at upscale restaurants, it’s common to leave a tip of about 10%.
Tipping is not required at hotels or in taxis, but it is common to round up the fare when taking a taxi.
Public order
Spain is considered a relatively safe country, but you should be cautious in tourist destinations like Madrid and Barcelona, where pickpocketing and theft are not uncommon. There are also scams targeting tourists, so it’s especially important to stay alert in urban areas.
clothing
Like Japan, Spain has four distinct seasons, so it’s best to dress according to the time of year. In summer, lightweight dresses and breathable clothing are recommended, but since the sun can be strong, it’s more comfortable if you have a light jacket or sunglasses. In autumn and spring, the weather changes from day to day rather than gradually, so it’s best to wear layers that are easy to adjust. In winter, a slightly lighter coat than you would wear in Japan is usually sufficient.
Things you should bring
Multi-plug adapter, regular medications, mobile battery, overseas travel insurance, mobile SIM or WiFi
Visa availability and arrangements
Japan and Spain have a visa waiver agreement for short-term stays, so you do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days for purposes such as tourism or visiting friends. In addition, since Spain is part of the Schengen Agreement, travelers eligible for the visa waiver must have a passport issued within the last 10 years, with at least three months’ validity remaining beyond the planned date of departure.
Required vaccinations
There are no mandatory requirements for entry.
