Moved to Vanuatu in 2006 and started hotel management.
Captivated by the country and people of Vanuatu, I wanted more Japanese people to visit and experience its charm, leading me to establish 'South Pacific Tours,' the only Japanese travel arrangement company in Vanuatu.
In addition to taking care of tourists, I also coordinate for numerous TV programs and magazines.

Even now, when personal arrangements via the internet have become easy, Vanuatu remains a special country.
Unfortunately, it is not a country with a lot of information circulating.
Having lived in Vanuatu for many years, we confidently introduce you to its charming spots.

Please leave to us the experiences that cannot be had with generally sold tours or personal arrangements.
Let's create a special Vanuatu experience together.

The capital, Port Vila, is the economic and tourist center, with beautiful beaches and resorts. Its volcanoes, tropical rainforests, and unique culture are attractive, making it a popular destination for adventure-loving tourists.

Tourist highlights include one of the world's most accessible volcanoes, Mount Yasur, and the blue-glowing 'Blue Hole,' among other natural spectacles.

Various things to consider when traveling to Vanuatu.

The best season for traveling to Vanuatu
The best season to visit Vanuatu is from September to January. During this period, temperatures gradually rise, and the weather is relatively calm, allowing you to enjoy a tropical atmosphere. From January to March, it is generally referred to as the cyclone season, but Vanuatu is not a place that experiences cyclones every year. As long as there are no cyclones, rainfall is minimal, and you can enjoy a summer full of tropical vibes. From June to September, it is considered winter, with minimum temperatures dropping to around 17 degrees Celsius in the mornings and evenings. Trade winds continue to blow, and the weather often feels somewhat gloomy during this time.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
The official currency of Vanuatu is the Vanuatu Vatu. In stores and restaurants, the Vanuatu Vatu is displayed with the currency symbol VT. Since currency exchange is not possible in Japan, you will need to exchange money after arriving in Vanuatu at hotel cashiers, souvenir shops in the city, or banks in the city and airport.
Major credit cards like VISA and MASTER are accepted at hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, and supermarkets in Port Vila and Luganville. They can also be used at famous resorts on Tanna Island, and cash advances with credit cards are possible in Port Vila and Luganville.
If you are visiting remote islands such as Santo Island or Tanna Island, it is recommended to bring cash.
Tips
There is no tipping custom in Vanuatu.
Public Safety
Vanuatu is a very safe country compared to other South Pacific nations. Cases of Japanese tourists being involved in crimes such as theft or assault are rare, but for women traveling alone, it is advisable to avoid going out alone at night and to exercise caution in places where alcohol is consumed.
Clothing
Throughout the year, summer clothing (short sleeves or a thin long-sleeve shirt for sun protection) is sufficient during the day.
However, from June to September, there are days when it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings, so having a cardigan or similar clothing can be convenient.
A nylon jacket like a windbreaker is useful as it can serve as a raincoat when it rains.
Things you should bring with you
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, raincoat, folding umbrella (a dual-purpose sunshade is convenient), hairdryer (often not provided in hotels on Tanna Island), plug adapter set, voltage converter, binoculars, flashlight (headlamp type is convenient), insect repellent, swimsuit, sandals
Visa availability and arrangements
Japanese nationals do not need to obtain a visa in advance for short-term stays for tourism or leisure purposes. A 120-day tourist visa is issued by the immigration officer at the airport upon entry into Vanuatu (extension of stay is not possible). For entry procedures, a passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining and an outbound flight ticket (e-ticket) are required.
Required vaccinations
There are no mandatory requirements for travel. The WHO recommends getting a malaria vaccination before traveling.
Things to note during your stay
Be cautious of pickpockets and theft in tourist areas. Do not leave your belongings unattended at hotel breakfast venues or airports, and always be mindful of your belongings while sightseeing.
