This model plan offers a packed two-day experience, starting with a visit to historic salt fields that supported Taiwan’s salt industry, exploring retro streets, dining in traditional houses, and visiting a long-established incense shop with over 100 years of history.
This comprehensive plan allows you to trace the rich history of Tainan, from the Dutch colonial period in the 17th century, through the Qing Dynasty, and into the era of Japanese rule.

Depart from Tainan High-Speed Rail Station

Established in 1824, these historic salt fields have witnessed the rise and fall of Taiwan’s salt industry. The pure white 'salt flowers' are etched with a long history.
Enjoy a lunch of local seafood cuisine
"Shennong Street"
With the recent retro boom, many young people have opened shops here, transforming the area into a city with a unique atmosphere where old and new eras blend together.
"Akakan Old House"
This old high-rise building tucked away in an alley features a unique design that fuses Taiwanese, Japanese, and Western architectural styles. Decorated with antiques, silver crowns for deities, and beams and pillars from temples, it offers a chance to experience Tainan’s history and culture. Dinner will be served at this restaurant.
