A solo female traveler can enjoy the trip to the fullest with peace of mind and safety!
This time, I used the service as a solo female traveler.
Although I finalized my travel schedule at the last minute, the responses via chat were quick despite the time difference, and the English-speaking guide, driver, and hotel were arranged promptly. Thanks to this, I was able to travel safely and without any particular inconvenience.
During the trip, there was one occasion when the hotel told me that lunch, which was supposed to be included in the tour fee, was not included. I was confused, but when I checked via Oooh! chat, they immediately contacted the hotel owner and resolved the issue. I appreciated how smoothly communication went even during the trip.
Also, the guide took many great photos from good angles, which made me very happy!
As for the tour itself, since this was my first time in Madagascar, I chose a standard itinerary, but I was able to see many lemurs and fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of the baobabs and Tsingy. I am very satisfied.
The only thing I wish I had arranged differently in the tour was the visit to the Chameleon Park on the way back from Vakona. It was interesting to see Madagascar's endemic chameleons up close, but since I wasn't particularly interested in chameleons, it felt similar to visiting a reptile house in Japan. This time, I wasn't able to see ring-tailed lemurs, so although it's in a slightly different direction, I wish I had visited Lemur Park near Tana instead.
Also, I had some time for shopping at supermarkets and other places, and I told the guide what I wanted to buy, but I couldn't find the baobab soap and baobab jam I was looking for until the end, so I regret not being able to purchase them... It would be helpful for travelers if you could research in advance where to buy popular souvenirs!
Finally, domestic travel—especially between Morondava and Bekopaka—inevitably involves rough roads and long distances, but watching the changing scenery, the countless baobabs along the way, and the local villages made the journey pass surprisingly quickly, and it wasn't as tough as I had feared. For those considering a trip to Madagascar, I hope you'll prioritize safety and health, make good use of a tour company, and enjoy the journey, including the travel itself. Thank you for an amazing trip!
