Recommended travel points

The Maya civilization is one of the most highly developed indigenous civilizations in the Americas.
Beginning around 1000 BC and lasting until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century, this civilization flourished across a vast region stretching from Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula to Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Guatemala and Honduras, regions that symbolize the rich history and culture of the ancient Maya civilization, are home to important heritage sites that showcase the greatness and artistic and technological excellence of the Maya.

The Copán Ruins in Honduras were a center of scholarship and art in the Maya civilization.
The intricate carvings and the Hieroglyphic Stairway, in particular, are invaluable sources for the study of Maya hieroglyphs.

The Quiriguá Ruins in Guatemala are known for the height of their stelae and the intricacy of their carvings.
This site had close ties with Copán, and was a hub of trade and cultural exchange.

Tikal Ruins in Guatemala are one of the largest urban sites of the Maya civilization, with towering temples rising from the jungle that create an overwhelming sense of scale. Temples I through IV, the Acropolis, and more made Tikal a political, religious, and commercial center, symbolizing the peak of the Maya civilization.
On the Tikal sunrise tour, you can experience a mystical sunrise accompanied by the sounds of wildlife echoing through the jungle.

On this journey visiting three historic ruins, a Japanese-speaking guide will provide attentive support throughout, so you can enjoy sightseeing with peace of mind.
Immerse yourself in the grand history told by the Maya civilization's heritage and the breathtaking natural landscapes that set the stage for it!

I gained expertise in planning, sales, and escorting tours for 8 years at a travel agency specializing in Japan's hidden gems. Then, captivated by Guatemala, which I visited on a single-day escort tour, I moved to Guatemala alone. I worked for 10 years as a cultural and public relations officer at the Japanese Embassy in Guatemala. Building connections in Guatemala, I established a government-approved travel agency in January 2004 with my husband, Shingo Matsumoto, to introduce Guatemala's charms to more Japanese people. I have over 30 years of experience in the travel industry, holding qualifications as a Travel Business Manager and a government-approved guide in Guatemala. I will deliver the charms of Guatemala and Central America to your heart's content!

After eight years at a Japanese travel agency specializing in remote destinations—gaining expertise in planning, sales, and tour escorting—I was enchanted by Guatemala during a single day as a tour escort and moved there alone. In Guatemala, I worked for ten years as a cultural and public relations officer at the Embassy of Japan in Guatemala.
Building a network in Guatemala and wishing to share its appeal with more people in Japan, I established a government-approved travel agency with my husband, Shingo Matsumoto, in January 2004. I am certified as a travel service supervisor and as a government-approved guide by the Guatemala Tourism Board, and have been in the travel industry for over 30 years. I am excited to share the wonders of Guatemala and Central America with you!
