• Day 1

  

  Addis Ababa

  Arrive at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.
  Transfer to the hotel by private car.
  
  Afterwards, enjoy a city tour of Addis Ababa.
  In this capital city, located at an altitude of 2,400 meters, skyscrapers stand alongside rows of cardboard shacks, creating a striking and fascinating contrast.
  You’ll visit traditional markets, historical monuments, and the National Museum, where 'Lucy' (Australopithecus) is on display.

• Day 2

  

  Addis Ababa → Awash National Park

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  
  Travel to Awash National Park by private vehicle.
  Ethiopia’s oldest national park is a rich haven for diverse flora and fauna.
  Drive through the bushlands and visit the Awash River waterfalls, observing a variety of wildlife such as kudu, gazelles, and oryx.
  The lodge also features hot springs.

• Day 3

  

  Awash National Park → Semera

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  
  Travel by private vehicle to Semera, the gateway to the Danakil (Afar) desert region.
  Upon arrival in Semera, enjoy a traditional dinner and check in to your hotel.

• Day 4

  

  Semera → Elta Ale

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  
  In the morning, proceed to Lake Afdera.
  Travel through oases and Afar villages as you head toward the salt lake.
  
  Afterwards, head to Erta Ale, an active volcano with an elevation of 613 meters.
  Here, you can witness one of the world's few continuously active lava lakes, with glowing red lava flowing before your eyes.
  
  Accommodation will be in a simple shelter set up a short distance from the crater, or outdoors on a mattress, for a wild night under the stars.

• Day 5

  

  Erta Ale → Hamed Ela → Lake Assal → Hamed Ela

  Breakfast at the campsite.
  
  After observing volcanic activity early in the morning, travel via Hamed Ela to Lake Assal in Djibouti.
  It is one of the saltiest lakes in the world, and the salt bars harvested here were once used as currency.
  You can observe the Afar people diligently harvesting salt.
  *From Hamed Ela, a military escort will accompany you.

• Day 6

  

  Lake Assal → Dallol Volcano → Hawzen

  Early morning visit to Dallol volcano.
  
  This area is known as one of the most extreme and unique landscapes on Earth, featuring vivid terrain shaped by volcanic activity and salt deposits.
  After breakfast, proceed to Hawzen in the Tigray Highlands.

  Hawzen → Mount Gheralta → Hawzen

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  
  Enjoy a full day of hiking in the Gheralta Mountains.
  Take in the views from the summit and enjoy the sight of the Mariam Korkor Church and Abuna Yemata Church perched high in the sky.

  Hawzen → Yeha Village → Axum

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  
  Enjoy the picturesque mountain scenery of Gheralta as you travel to Yeha Village at the foot of the Adwa Mountains.
  This village, established around 700 BC by immigrants from southern Arabia, is home to the oldest pre-Aksumite ruins, including the Temple of the Moon, built entirely without mortar.
  
  Then proceed to Axum.

  Full day sightseeing in Axum.
  Axum flourished as an important trading city and is now registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  Visit ruins, monuments, stelae used as tombs for ancient kings, and the archaeological museum.
