Thanks to their genius, the city on the banks of the Arno River became the cradle of the Renaissance, a true incubator of world-class works and ideas. This guided tour of Florence includes a walking itinerary through the historic center, where we find the most important squares and monuments: from the Renaissance facade of Santa Maria Novella to Piazza della Repubblica (the ancient Roman forum turned market), and the nearby Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, flanked by Giotto’s Campanile and the Baptistry with its bronze doors. There’s also Piazza della Signoria, the heart of Florence’s political life, and the Basilica of Santa Croce, which houses the tombs of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli, among others.
