The majesty of Pashupatinath, the serene great stupa of Boudhanath, and mantras riding the flag-flying winds linger in your ears. The sunrise at Nagarkot is a theater of the Himalayas that changes color moment by moment—on clear days Mount Everest (8,848 m) smiles in silver. Walk the paths to Changunarayan and feel the breath of the medieval past in Bhaktapur’s “living museum,” guided carefully by a Japanese-speaking guide. Evenings are spent sharing the afterglow of the journey with local cuisine and smiles. Hiking to Bhaktapur and Changunarayan in the ancient city
After breakfast in Nagarkot, hike to Changunarayan to explore ancient temples and rural landscapes. On the return visit the “living museum” of Bhaktapur to enjoy cultural experiences with a Japanese-speaking guide, encountering Newar architecture and traditional crafts. The cobblestone streets and woodcarvings are very photogenic, and you can enjoy souvenir shopping.
